One of the interesting contributions made by Christians to world civilization has been its understanding of time.

When I began to work towards my unrestricted pilot’s license, the main task at hand, shifted from basic management of the aircraft to navigating by a method known as dead reckoning.

To understand apostolic, we need to have a good look at the composite picture provided by the New Testament.

Part 2: Local Church Leadership –
If it’s not Apostolic it’s probably not Christian

Rod Denton encourages us to move forward by following the prompts of the Holy Spirit confident in the fact that it is often when the world is experiencing the worst of times, that the church of Jesus Christ is experiencing the best of God’s Kairos times.

For the fifty-years-plus that I have been involved in Christian leadership, most have involved working alongside fellow pastors, ministers and priests from different denominations. I am a “kingdom of God” sort of bloke, so I have never found myself ogling at someone else’s success, worship team, building or car park for that matter. If someone else is doing good, I think about it as good for the kingdom.

I have been a sucker for books for almost as long as I have been following Jesus. When I discovered Jesus for the first time, I was working as an earthmoving operator in our family business, and sometimes as part of a shearing team. I wasn’t a fluid reader by any stretch, but I was hooked on Jesus

And the Lord said, “Listen to what the unjust judge says. And will not God bring about justice for his chosen ones, who cry out to him day and night? Will he keep putting them off? I tell you he will see that they get justice, and quickly. However, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on the earth?” (Luke 18:1-8)

A new form of revival has been happening in many different parts of the world during the past thirty years. Unlike many of the better-known revivals it has been going on under the radar and in places around the world where it is a serious crime to preach the gospel.

7. Conclusion: Are We There Yet? Here are some metrics to use that will shift us from talking about it to seeing it happen.

6. Culture: “They Devoted Themselves” (TDT) We need to develop an apostolic culture not manage a comfortable spiritual club.

Great Commission: We must envision, train and deploy our whole church into a work that has the drive and capacity to see the Great Commission fulfilled in our generation.

Holy Spirit power: We need a fresh outpouring of the Holy Spirit so we will offer an encounter with God rather than a bunch of information.

3. Kingdom of God: We must shape our identity and mission by the principles and values of the kingdom of God.
